more simple problems

I sent a mail round earlier saying that I was not sure if James was running okay, well I have been told that it is but I can not log on, I have got the root password set up and it just refuses to let me log on.
Any ideas?

Where did you set the password? The configuration file has a giant
comment (lines 2 - 50) in the beginning, describing what needs to be
changed. One really sets the password at line 155 in JAMES.conf.xml.

I've seen this happen a couple of times. Perhaps the comments should be
removed? It's not obvious in vi.
