1.7.5 in one/two weeks?

We released 1.6.18 today and 1.7.4 just over a month ago. There are
a few useful items merged already, and STATUS has a truckload of pending
changes.

Shall we roll 1.7.5 in two weeks from today? If we can clear STATUS and
roll next Thursday that's fine too, but I don't think we're in a hurry.

Sounds good!

Thanks! But Philip already volunteered to run 1.7.5. You could run 1.7.6 :)

OK, I'll volunteer. ATM I'm still learning what release.py does, but I'll try
to get up to speed this week.

Yes, I'll do it. I'll roll a 1.7.5 some time next week.

So we really have nobody who is even remotely interested in volunteering
for this task? In that case, I would step in and try to roll a release
during the next 2 weeks. However, I'd strongly prefer having additional
release managers. It is not hard and doesn't take much time. The major
effort is reading related documentation in HACKING and learning how
to drive the release.py script.

And this one just had a new baby, is hurriedly making revisions to his
post-defense dissertation, and generally up to eyeballs in Ev2 work.
In other words, I might be able to swing it, but it may be a week or
two.

Will anyone else step up to run the 1.7.5 release?

Please help enlarge the RM ecosystem! The RM is currently rated as
"Critically Endangered" species by IUCN.

I don't know when we're cutting 1.7.5, but I'm stepping down from the RM
hot seat. (I can no longer commit to having the time for that.)

It is *never* too soon. IMO, it is only gated by RM capacity, and signers.
There is no other "wait" rationale that I can imagine.

Ping. Do people want to see 1.7.5 cut next week, or is it to osoon
after 1.7.4 still?
