[jira] [Commented] (LOG4J2-1825) Log4j2 throwing an error in Windows bash console

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-1825?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15894036#comment-15894036 ]

Ales Krestan commented on LOG4J2-1825:
--------------------------------------

Unfortunately, the same issue is still present under the following circumstances:

* Web application with a war containing log4j-core-2.8.1
* deployed on Tomcat 8.5.11
* running Java 1.8.0_121
* running on Windows 10 64-bit

Appears to be related to Tomcat / the web application, a Java SE application run from cmd line using the same version of log4j2 works fine.

> Good morning,
> using log4j2 in my project (see below the configuration) running it, everything went ok in Eclipse. Then building the jar and executing it in a bash Windows, I get an error thrown regarding the "Console Appender". After investigation, it works in other shells (like git bash), my question here is about if this behavior is documented somewhere ?(because after googling it a lot, I did not find anything relevant).
> See the attached files for the properties file and the stacktrace as Jira does not handle well (or I don't know how) the formatting of code
