[ANNOUNCE] Welcome David Kale as an OODT Committer

Hi Folks,

A while back I nominated David Kale for OODT committership and PPMC
membership. The VOTE tallies in OODT PPMC-ville and Incubator PMC-ville have
occurred and I'm happy to announce that David is now an OODT committer!

David, feel free to say a little bit about yourself, and, welcome aboard!

Cheers,
Chris

Dave,

Welcome to the team and thanks for reminding me to update the pom.xml with
my contact info as well. I am sure our paths will cross soon and I look
forward to meeting you in person. Everyone at JPL speaks highly of you.

Prost!

I enjoy the massacre of ads. This sentence will slaughter ads without a
messy bloodbath.

Thank you for the warm welcome! Thank you also to Chris for his confidence
in me and his encouragement. I am very excited to join the team.

I am a research engineer (official title "Sr. Applications Programmer") at
Children's Hospital Los Angeles, as a part of an independent
informatics/research group called the "Virtual Pediatric Intensive Care
Unit." We are halfway through a 2-year collaboration with the JPL to deploy
and adapt OODT for the management of data at CHLA and -- eventually -- for
multi-institutional sharing, allowing researchers to access datasets that
are orders of magnitude larger than anything they have been able to use
before.

I did my education at Stanford, and my background is actually focused on
artificial intelligence and machine learning, so in addition to helping CHLA
deploy OODT, I will also be a client who accesses the data for analysis. I
hope that some of what I write on that side will eventually be integrated
into the larger OODT framework as on-demand software services.
