Runs slower than older version
Summary: Runs slower than older version
Product: XalanJ2
Version: 2.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: Other
Component: Xalan
AssignedTo: xalan-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: dhorrell@oktobor.com
Hi,
I've just upgraded from version 2.2d6 to 2.4.1 and discovered that some of my
XSLT processes run quite a bit slower than they did previously.
The ones that are slower are all applied to a large XML document 4Mb in size.
The processes are each taking about 7 seconds longer to run than they did
previously. The times are up from 10s to 17s, and from 5s to 12s so this is a
significant portion of the time.
Do you have any ideas as to why it would run slower and if there is any option
I can disable etc to get the performance back to where it was?
The only real reason for upgrading was because I thought it may actually
improve performance so I do have the option of going back to the old version
for now.
Thanks
