Summary: Enhance documentation for mod_authnz_ldap
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.2.4
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P4
Component: Documentation
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: rjanke@blueyonder.co.uk
CC: rjanke@blueyonder.co.uk
It is not very clearly how to specify redundant ldap servers. This is the
relevant section in the documentation (AuthLDAPUrl Directive):
The name/port of the ldap server (defaults to localhost:389 for ldap, and
localhost:636 for ldaps). To specify multiple, redundant LDAP servers, just
list all servers, separated by spaces. mod_authnz_ldap will try connecting to
each server in turn, until it makes a successful connection.
It should also be shown here that the format require for the the 2 server
definitions being inside common quotes:
AUTHLDAPURL "ldap://ldap1.example.com ldap2.example.com/ou=exampleou,
o=exampleattr"
If the quotes are omitted, there will be an error: "AuthLDAPURL takes one
argument, URL to define LDAP connection.."
