Hmmm -- I haven't taken a look at

   http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1279

yet, but was this commit intended to solve it, or was it for a
separate problem?

Wait.  No.  I just didn't code carefully.  Testing a small tweak to
that revision now.  You'll see a commit, regardless -- a reversion, or
a correction.  Sorry for the churn.

Huh.  And now that I run those tests on Linux, I see that something is
broken.  :-(  Reverting now...

It was intended only to solve a problem I was seeing on my Win2k
install.

I was aware that there was a known problem in this realm (didn't know
there was an issue), but had no idea whether or not my commit actually
solved the reported problem.  I admittedly did not try to run the test
suite on that Windows box before committing. :-\
