Re[2]: JAVA_HOME variable problem

I export it and I can see it from "export -p". But the result is still the
same when I execute "startup.sh". Any idea?

Sorry to ask, but have you done this?
  export JAVA_HOME

Without this, the value is visible in your current shell but not in
applications started from your current shell.
