NP exception when using FileAppender with BufferedIO = true

Hi,

I get a NP exception when using the FileAppender and set bufferedIO =
true. Reported error:

"Exception in Action for tag <appender>" at line 21 column 14 with
exception java.lang.NullPointerException

I am using log4j-1.3 alpha-8.
