[jira] [Commented] (NIFI-1566) Bulletins for Reporting Tasks not showing up in the Reporting Tasks table

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-1566?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15169081#comment-15169081 ]

Matt Gilman commented on NIFI-1566:
-----------------------------------

I don't believe the reported issue is a problem. However, after digging in there is a separate issue that should be addressed. In this specific case, the Reporting Task is filing the bulletin directly with the bulletin repository as a controller level bulletin. Controller level bulletins are only shown in the flow status bar. If this reporting task had used the provided logger, then a bulletin would have been automatically generated for this reporting task specifically and it would have shown up in the table. I was able to verify this.

However, we should open up a new ticket to improve this process for Reporting Tasks and Controller Services. Specifically, they should not need to file two bulletins for the controller level and component level. We should allow them to solely file the component level bulletin and we should amend the controller bulletins with all controller service and reporting task bulletins client side. Additional, Log Level should be a configurable value for Controller Services and Reporting Tasks as is the case with Processors.

> I created a MonitorDiskUsage reporting task and configured it to report if the Content Repository exceeds a threshold of 1% used. I then clicked start and stop. There were no bulletins. I closed the Reporting Tasks table and clicked "Refresh Status" on the background. The bulletin showed up in the status bar. However, when I went back to the Reporting Tasks table in the Settings window, I still do not see the bulletins showing up.
