And on the 'big splash' release, we should make a very big deal that we
don't require AIR to use a friendly installer.
So many people will see this as a good thing.

Good point.

I think that we could extend the warning to all OS, not only Windows, where AIR runtime cannot be installed on the development machine.
( One customer of my company does not allow AIR runtime on the dev machines (because it's considered as unsecure), so ANT installation would be perfect for them).

This is no longer true for Linux users, so we should ammend this for future releases:

"It's recommended you install Apache Flex by using the Apache Flex IDE installer, or use Ant if you don't have Adobe AIR.
_same url as now_"

I'll try and update the above page this week to say something like 'On Linux, don't have Adobe AIR installed, or other install issues ? See the _installation help_ on the Wiki' ?

Yes, the blog post is ready but has not been published yet.
But normally, Justin has replaced it with a simple link to the installer page, so the link to the blog post shouldn't be there.
Can you refresh your browser?

Anyway, SDK 4.12 can be installed...

Well done!

I've just installed and test it now... seems that it works like a charm!
By using the installer the switch is really simple and the whole process building an app with a new installed SDK takes about 5 minutes.
Great job, Thank you!!!
