[jira] Created: (TUSCANY-387) mvn eclipse:eclipse is broken due to . section in the top-level pom.xml

mvn eclipse:eclipse is broken due to <resource>.</resource> section in the top-level pom.xml
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Key: TUSCANY-387
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TUSCANY-387
     Project: Tuscany
        Type: Bug

  Components: Build System
    Versions: Java-M1
    Reporter: Raymond Feng
 Assigned to: Jean-Sebastien Delfino
    Priority: Blocker
     Fix For: Java-M1

The current maven eclipse plugin doesn't support src folder exclusion pattern. Adding <resource>.<resource> to the pom.xml triggers the maven eclipse plugin add the root
folder of the project as a source folder and it leads to build path overlapping problem for Eclipse.

[jira] Resolved: (TUSCANY-387) mvn eclipse:eclipse is broken due to . section in the top-level pom.xml

Posted by "Jean-Sebastien Delfino (JIRA)" <tu...@ws.apache.org>.

Jean-Sebastien Delfino resolved TUSCANY-387:
--------------------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

I removed the statement to pick up resources from ".". These are just samples, they are not part of the Tuscany runtime so I don't think we need to pick up the txt files when we produce their JARs and WARs anyway.

I prefer to keep the README and LICENSE files well visible at the root instead of hiding them under the src/main/resources directory.

[jira] Commented: (TUSCANY-387) mvn eclipse:eclipse is broken due to . section in the top-level pom.xml

Rick Rineholt commented on TUSCANY-387:
---------------------------------------

could these files not have been put in "src/main/resources"
this would have avoided the need for the root of the sample listed in the pom resources
avoid this issues and not directtly seen by the user ?
