[users@httpd] exit signal Segmentation Fault

Hi - has anyone had this before / know where the problem is?

[Thu Jan 29 09:42:43 2004] [notice] child pid 6340 exit signal Segmentation Fault (11)
[Thu Jan 29 09:42:43 2004] [notice] child pid 6283 exit signal Segmentation Fault (11)
[Thu Jan 29 09:42:43 2004] [notice] child pid 6338 exit signal Segmentation Fault (11)
[Thu Jan 29 09:42:44 2004] [notice] child pid 6345 exit signal Segmentation Fault (11)
** repeated every few seconds **

Platform Sun E220R Solaris 7 - fully patched.

Just upgraded from:
Apache 1.3.27
PHP 4.3.4
MySql 3.23.57
mod_ssl-2.8.14-1.3.27
openssl-0.9.7b
mod_log_sql

To:
Apache 1.3.29
PHP 4.3.4
MySQL 3.23.58
mod_ssl-2.8.16-1.3.29
openssl-0.9.7c
mod_log_sql

All modules are built as DSO, without any errors at all. Commented out the PHP module & restarted but the error continued. The web server appears to be working just fine but obviously would like to know what is causing this?

Thanks in advance - J.

Yes - during a Distributed Denial of Service attack. You may want to
monitor the tcp traffic to the server during those periods you notice
the seg faults, although of course if you didn't notice these problems
before you upgraded then it's possibly not this.
