CVS server ran out of disk space?

i get the folowing error while updating sources for Axis.

cvs update -d -P "/java"
    cannot create_adm_p /tmp/cvs-serv74092/test/typedesc
failed due to an internal error (took 30:05.703)
   Error: The server reported an error: No space left on device
      Error: java: cannot create_adm_p /tmp/cvs-serv74092/test/typedesc
***
