[jira] [Created] (HBASE-6159) truncate leaks ZK connection in HBase
shell
Richard Ding created HBASE-6159:
-----------------------------------
Summary: truncate leaks ZK connection in HBase shell
Key: HBASE-6159
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-6159
Project: HBase
Issue Type: Bug
Components: shell
Affects Versions: 0.90.6
Reporter: Richard Ding
Assignee: Richard Ding
Priority: Minor
ZK connection count always goes up by one when running shell command:
{code}
hbase(main):001:0> truncate 'table'
{code}
This can be fixed with the change in admin.rb:
{code}
- h_table = org.apache.hadoop.hbase.client.HTable.new(table_name)
- table_description = h_table.getTableDescriptor()
+ table_description = @admin.getTableDescriptor(table_name.to_java_bytes)
{code}

Jonathan Hsieh commented on HBASE-6159:
---------------------------------------
I tested watching the zk procesa and the shell processes with lsof and didn't see the number of files/connections go up. This is against a 0.94.1rc0 version of hbase. Was this only against and older version (just 0.90.x?)
