   I can confirm that my custom pool implementation was not successful due to the bug you mentioned. I was using the `SftpFileSystem`.
   
   We don't have control over the way the SFTP server works, so our only option is to periodically check for new files. The motivation behind me trying to implement pooling was our current implementation had to use multiple concurrent sessions for the same user as a consequence of the design.
   
   After reading your answer, I think the better approach will be to have a single connection/ session. Hence I will try to implement that.
