Proposed London CouchDB meetup, June 30th
Hi everyone,
I'd like to invite everyone who's interested in CouchDB and happens to
be in or near London on the evening of wednesday June 30th to come and
have dinner and/or a drink with me and some of my colleagues and very
informally discuss whatever is on our collective minds. We haven't
decided on a place yet, (suggestions are welcome,) so when I have the
details hammered out, I'll let you know.

0.11(built an rpm off 0.11 source)
Unfortunately, I can not use trunk straight off and will have to wait on a release version.
(Assuming my understanding on trunk is correct)

By curiosity, are you using CouchDB 0.11 or trunk?
That problem should be gone with trunk.

Yes, these problems are well known. There's been lots of work going into the replication APIs for the next release.
You might try trunk and see if it's better for you.
And Damien is working on a brand new replicator, which should be much simpler code, so for 1.1 or some future release we'll have licked this stuff for good.

Anyone ETA on fixing push replication?
Posted by Bharat Bharat <Bh...@citrix.com>.
I find push replication very very buggy for 2 reasons:
- Very high failure rate for replication across different subnet.
- Inflates target DB size to almost like 10 times.
For my exact test scenarios, pull replication works flawlessly and push fails like almost every time. Couchdb itself recommends pull replication over push. This however leads to another problem that you have to log in to your target DB instances to trigger pull(or use curl to specify source and target urls). I think the problem starts when you try to specify a URL instead of just DB name in the target body.
curl -X POST -d '{"source":"db","target":"http://10.1.1.1:5984/db2"}' http://localhost:5984/_replicate
I was wondering if there is some sort of fix/patch out there or any plan to fix this in upcoming releases?
Thanks very much

oh, what awesome luck! Some of my colleagues will be there, as will some
of the BBC people who use CouchDB, whom I've not talked to before, so it
should be fun. I'll definitely shoot you a mail with the final time and
place as soon as I have them! (And obviously feel free to bring whomever
you want from the conference. Not all of my colleagues are deep into
couchdb, so it's likely that it'll turn into a more general nerd social
event.)

We're moving the meet-up to June 29th, since the only confirmed attendee
up until now could not make the 30th. I will soon send an exact time and
location.

CouchDB London meetup July 1st (yes it moved again, I suck)
Posted by Eric Casteleijn <er...@canonical.com>.
[bcc-ing everyone who expressed an interest, so you might get this twice.]
Ok, I've had to move the meetup yet again, because tuesday night turns
out to be booked for a Canonical event.
So, I propose we meet Thursday, July 1st, at 8pm at the Porterhouse in
Covent Garden:
http://www.porterhousebrewco.com/coventgarden.html
21-22 Maiden Lane
London WC2E 7NA, United Kingdom
020 7379 7917
We'll probably be having dinner there around 7pm, and if you want to
join us, please make your own reservations. I'll try and not forget to
wear an Ubuntu hat or something, but I'm sure you can pick out the geeks
anyway ;)
I hope everyone who confirmed can still make it. If not, feel free to
rebel, and have your own couch meetup without me, I deserve no less.
