Sigh.  It may be time to consider switching these lists over to only
allowing posting by subscribers. That won't stop all the mail-worm attacks,
but it would help.

(I am starting to believe that SMTP is reaching the end of its useful life
cycle, and that it's time for the Internet to start working on a
secure/non-repudiable mail system. That wouldn't completely solve the
problem, but it would make finding and fixing infected machines much
easier.)
