Re: Incubator PMC/Board report for Nov 2013 [ppmc]

Hi,
Try as I may, can't figure out how to add to the Incubator Reporting
Wiki...
I think the report should say something like this :
*Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:*
- -> I think the most pressing issues have been addressed and
DeviceMapClient is ready for initial release, pending consensus on
release details and Release Manager.
*Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?*
- -> None that I am aware of.
*How has the community developed since the last report?*
- -> Pretty quiet on the list, some informal chatter via Skype.
*How has the project developed since the last report?*
- -> OpenDDR Resource issue was conclusively resolved.
- -> Extensive testing (hundreds of iterations through full set and
various subsets of close to half a million unique user-agent strings)
of all version (java & .Net languages) currently in the repository
showed that DeviceMapClient is literally over a 1,000 times faster
than any other currently available tool (milliseconds vs microseconds)
with a fraction of the code. Accuracy (approaching 98%) can be
improved with n-gram tokens in resource data instead of regex-patterns.
I think this covers most if not all bases, but do correct me if I'm wrong.

That's https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/November2013 and to get write
access you need to ask on general@incubator.apache.org.
I have committed your draft there now, thanks very much!
Slightly adapted, let me know if someone need changes to what I wrote.
I have removed the "some informal chatter via Skype" bit as the "if it
didn't happen on the dev list it didn't happen" rule is an important
one for Apache projects.

One more thing because MozillaOS was just in the media again over tablet
support, a Mozilla committer asked me (via OpenDDR, I did point out,
further development is expected to increase on DeviceMap) how to get
involved.
Probably worth noting, too, IF someone can communicate that to the PMC or
mention it at the call/meeting?[?]
