[jira] [Created] (RANGER-3549) Ranger usersync ad username limit

Rentao Wu created RANGER-3549:
---------------------------------

Summary: Ranger usersync ad username limit
                 Key: RANGER-3549
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RANGER-3549
             Project: Ranger
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: usersync
            Reporter: Rentao Wu

When usersync syncs from Active directory (LDAP) the user name (sAMAccountName) and group name gets truncated if they are more than 20 characters. The username synced would be incorrect and the users doesn't get applied correctly to policies.

Is there a way to increase the character limit on usernames synced from AD?

This is the same issue described here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/hdinsight/domain-joined/ldap-sync
