Anyone serious about using SOAP in their production

Hi all,
I am relatively new to SOAP forum. I actually found it very
interesting, and I personally feel
that it does have a big(if not HUGE) upside potential. I think everybody is
aware of the fact that
microsoft and IBM are pushing it as the ultimate panacea for all the B2B
problems.

But is anyone really using or even contemplating to use SOAP in their
production environment.
Or is it still in the development or prototyping. I would really like to
know if anyone has developed
or in the process of developing any business application using SOAP.

Waiting to hear from you all.

regards,
prasen

We're using 4S4C[1] for the server, and a hand crafted client using
VB/MSXML.

2 Clients I am working with, E.Piphany and Centura Software, both are
implementing SOAP as an alternative interface to their products as a 'serious'
feature. For E.Piphany this is an extension to an existing HTTP interface
to allow SOAP as an alternative, actually superior, interface to the entire
command set to the server. For Centura Software SOAP is being integrated
in both the client and server sides of their products.
E.Piphany (www.epiphany.com) SOAP support is scheduled for 1Q/2001
for Centura Software, currently no target dates ... but 'sometime soon'.
NOTE: These are *target* not *commited* dates, I'm just a developer and
don't control these things.
This is public, not confidential information.

Also note that there are currently significantly problems using SOAP, mainly
that the various client 'bits' from different vendors simply dont all work with
all the server 'bits' from other vendors.
Entirely opposite of what SOAP is supposed to be (i.e. interoperable).
We are *hoping* that SOAP will stabalize sometime *SOON* so that this isnt an
issue.
Or atleast its a fixable issue. But we're not there yet.
