table pagingState

I am using the
SimpleTableModel (dataModel, columnModel);

and
SimpleTableSessionStateManager (dataModel, columnModel);

i want to 'reset' the page displayed to 0

found the
tableModel.getPagingState().setCurrentPage(0);

but that didn't do it.

what am i missing?

any hint would be very much appreciated.
