   This PR is one of a few that implement the final step 4) [discussed in #5772](https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset/pull/5772#issuecomment-417468417), to
   
   - add `@superset-ui/core` as a new dependency to leverage its `SupersetClient`
   - refactor _just_ dashboard-specific ajax calls (not including charts) for easier review 
   
   The other apps will be refactored in subsequent PRs
