Classpath echo

When I echo my classpath, this is my output: 

    %DERBY_INSTALL%\lib\derby.jar;%DERBY_INSTALL%\lib\derbytools.jar;.

I'm not able to use the ODBC driver or to import nu.xom classes right now for my .java applications.
