Like all aspects of Tomcat, anyone can suggest changes. If you have a
particular feature you'd like to propose, feel free to discuss it on this
mailing list.
That being said, improving the application deployment functionality of
Tomcat 4 is one of the things I'm working on. On that general topic, I
just committed an enhancement that lets you put your <Context> element
(and all its nested sub-elements) into a separate XML file in the
"webapps" directory, so you can now configure apps without modifying
server.xml. This will show up in tonight's nightly build.
