emails to issues list
Hello!
Why it is possible that someone can send emails directly to the issues
mailing list?
e. g.
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/openoffice-issues/201411.mbox/%3C91286B00937747BA82897BA23D28C798%40Mainframe%3E

As I recall, there may be an administrator function to customize the reject message when an Administrator bounces a post to the list. Rob Weir probably knows much more about it.
This would allow a fairly friction-free moderation activity for rapid bouncing of these misfired message while automatically suggesting that issues be reported to one of (1) users @oo.a.o, (2) dev @oo.a.o, or (3) the Bugzilla, with perhaps a link to the web page on how to submit issues, depending on what the "issue" is.
I suppose if it is a security matter, then security @oo.a.o could be used, but folks need to understand about what is a security matter and what is not. There may be a page about that also.
[This is a drive-by shooting. I'm not administering lists any longer and can't dig deeper.]

I don't know anything about mechanisms in place to accomplish something
like you suggest. But, if you'd like to find out more or help out the

Thank you, but I cannot believe that in a big mailing system it isn't
possible to set a simple rule:

and for this mailing list I would expect that "normal moderation" means
"no moderation".

Thanks for your answer! I don't know if this email was moderated.
It was only a actual example but there was emails at the list earlier.

Likely I have moderated it through because it didn't stumble over that
it's issues@ rather than qa@. Sorry, if that was the case. Will pay more
attention in the future.

Yes. I'll be happy to put in a ticket to INFRA about this particular
mailing list. It shouldn't be handled the same way as our other lists --
i.e. with moderation, etc. So, if this is the case, we need to correct
this.

This is intentional, yes? The issues list *only* echoes traffic from
BZ. If you want to discuss an issue, do so via the BZ interface.
If we start doing email posts on the issues mailing list these
comments will be disconnected from the BZ issue.

This is a good question. It does seem like all of the postings should
only come from Bugzilla. We'll need to confer with INFRA on this.
