The Apache Directory Project (Server) Logo
Hi all,
I'm certainly not an artist but I had an idea about a logo for the
project and here is what I could do:

Be warned that this is not a Photoshop product, it's just a MS Office
drawing :-) I would really like to have artistic abilities but I do
not. So any artistic contribution is welcome. Especially the Tree
should be much more smooth I think.
My idea was that the Tree represents the Directory and the Blocks
represents Services of all sizes that are Directory clients (like DNS,
Auth etc.).
Any ideas ?

Incidentally - If anyone really wants to sharpen their
vector graphics / artistic abilities...Inkscape has
come a long ways.

I great way to learn is to grab some graphics off of
http://www.openclipart.org/
or
www.kde-look.org and just break it apart in inkscape.
KDE's artists have a rule that all new art must be in
svg format, so it's a great resource. LGPL license
too (For the KDE official graphics that is)!
Mozilla has a lot of great art too, and a lot (If not
all) of it is Mozilla licensed.

some comments about logo:
1. services talks same language to directory : jndi , in the logo a bridge must exist.
2. services are plugable.. they must be in lego style..
