Unable to use SSL with james 2.1a1

Hi

I try without success to use SSL on james 2.1a1 both on windows 2K and 
linux mandrake. I have successfully lauched the server and i see

Using PHOENIX_HOME:   D:\Messaging\James2.1\Server
Using PHOENIX_TMPDIR: D:\Messaging\James2.1\Server\temp
Using JAVA_HOME:      D:\j2sdk14

Phoenix 4.0a4

James 2.1a1
Started POP3 Server ssl:995
Started SMTP Server ssl:25
Started NNTP Server plain:119

But When I try to send a mail with any client outlook, netscape etc.. 
the connection is always refused. the same thinks on receive nothing 
happen.

I use JDK1.4
