"Failed to stop the Apache2 service."

Summary: "Failed to stop the Apache2 service."
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.50
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 9x
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: All
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: valerij_rozouvan@yahoo.ca

How I get the error message "Failed to stop the Apache2 service."
1. Start > Run > command
2. cd C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\bin>
3. apache -k install
4. apache -k start
At this point the server is running, and I experience no problems. When I try to
stop the server:
5. apache -k stop
I get the error message "The Apache2 service is stopping. Failed to stop the
Apache2 service." If I try to uninstall:
6. apache -k uninstall
I get: "Removing the Apache2 service The Apache2 service has been removed
successfully." However upon shutting down Windows, I get a message box labeled
"Apache": "You must quit this program before you quit Windows. Click OK to quit
the program and Windows, or click Cancel to continue running the program and
Windows."
If Cancel is clicked, Apache somehow quits and Windows remains on. Recently I
discovered that after I do the command "apache -k uninstall", and call the
"close program dialog" (CTRL+ALT+DEL), Apache is one of the programs that is in
it and also something called "Winoldap". I looked Winoldap on Google:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000456.htm ("This issue can also occur if
System Agent attempts to shutdown a second MS-DOS session before the first
MS-DOS session is not closed.").
I have no idea how and why this is happening. That's about all.
