contrib:NumericField

I'm loathe to write this, because I'm *sure* it's
something simple... I'm using contrib:NumericField and
I keep getting errors for exceeding the maximum
length, but as far as I can tell I'm NOT. Here's the
HTML and .page:

<td><input type="text" id="tankNumber" size="5"
jwcid="tankNumber"/></td>

<component id="tankNumber"
type="contrib:NumericField">
    <static-binding name="displayName" value="Tank
#"/>
    <binding name="value" expression="tankNumber"/>
    <binding name="minimum" expression="1"/>
    <binding name="maximum" expression="5"/>
    <static-binding name="type"
value="java.lang.Long"/>
</component>

When I submit the form, my the delegate (which is just
a org.apache.tapestry.valid.ValidationDelegate) is in
error and has the message: "Tank # must not be larger
than 5". If I print the value out, it's not more than
five digits.

I'm confused.

It's not the minimum/maximum length, but the least/greatest value.
