Old Velocity Tags

Hello,

Looking at this link: http://cwiki.apache.org/WW/velocity-tags-old.html

I'm still trying to figure out how to support the "#tag( Component " - in  
Struts 2.

Is it possible? or is there an newer way of doing the same thing.
