[jira] [Created] (THRIFT-6075) Generate Equal Method for Delphi Thrift Data Classes/Interfaces
Raphael Nguyen created THRIFT-6075:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Generate Equal Method for Delphi Thrift Data Classes/Interfaces
Key: THRIFT-6075
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-6075
Project: Thrift
Issue Type: New Feature
Reporter: Raphael Nguyen
At the moment, the Delphi data classes/interfaces generated from thrift files do not have a robust mean for comparison.
When writing tests especially for applications that are thrift clients, there is usually a need to assert that the application has called a thrift endpoint with the correct parameters. At the moment, we are working around that by comparing the {{ToString}} result of expected and actual objects. However, this workaround is not robust and would not replace the need for a proper equality assertion.
It would be very beneficial if an Equal method could be generated for these data classes/interfaces to allow for such comparisons.
