Could be good could be bad. Read this ;)

"Gmail <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmail> was made available to the
public by Google <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google> on 1 April 2004,
after extensive rumors of its existence during testing. Owing to the April
Fool's Day <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Fool%27s_Day> release, the
company's press release aroused skepticism in the technology world,
especially since Google had been known to make April Fool's jokes in the

Promoting 1.5.2 binaries on April 1st would be excellent: easy-to-remember
release date :)

More seriously, on my side the sooner the better

Hey hey we are actually together in Paris. I can promote binaries if needed
by Monday if David is busy.

Thanks Mark for voting.

Late +1 from here.

I think David is currently on the road between a few conferences.
Maybe Romain can take over tallying the votes?

Hi Alex,

The vote should be closed in my opinion.
David is the one who opened it so he's the one to count and publish
officially the result.

Then, he just have to promote binaries on nexus and perform some minors
official stuff.
Finally, it's just a matter of some hours to sync everything.

David?

Hello,

Can TomEE 1.5.2 be made official?

We have updated our product prerequisites, but our customers won't be able
to download TomEE 1.5.2 if it's not published in
http://tomee.apache.org/downloads.html; so this is becoming critical.

Thanks,
Alex.

I confirm that now the 1.5.2 download links are available, as well as the
links to older (1.5.1, etc) releases.

No big deal for my side, but FYI here's what I get in the change log
section of http://tomee.apache.org/downloads.html:
 Changelog
 Under construction.
So it's a huge progress since our customers now have access to 1.5.2
download links,
thank you very much to all of you !!

Re: [RESULT] TomEE 1.5.2/OpenEJB 4.5.2 (staging-008)

Posted by Jean-Louis MONTEIRO <je...@gmail.com>.
Hi Alex,

I did it as I promise. Need to check why it's not up to date. I checked on
the staging website and it was OK for me.
I also went into a lot of jiras to qualify and fulfill them.

Jean Louis

The release notes should be easy to generate now.

Re: [RESULT] TomEE 1.5.2/OpenEJB 4.5.2 (staging-008)

Posted by Alex The Rocker <al...@gmail.com>.
Hi Jean-Louis,

Do you have any idea when TomEE 1.5.2 could be downloaded from
http://tomee.apache.org/downloads.html page?

We have documented 1.5.2 as the minimal TomEE prerequisite version for our
software product (for good reasons: we had issues with 1.5.1) ; our
customers won't dig into developers' list to find it, so it's critical for
us to get this download page updated with appropriate download links.

I know TomEE's release notes should be updated as well, but not having
these releases notes wouldn't hurt our business, if it helps to prioritize
the todos...

Thanks,
Alex

Hi David,

what's needed that someone else could stand in for you while you are
unavailable? I suppose your are some kind of a bottleneck if it gets to
sorting all these things out...

Hello from the Vienna airport!

Right. Still need to complete the release notes (about halfway there) and get the download page updated. Land in LAX late and can hopefully tackle that early tomorrow.

The release notes for this one are a little trickier as all the jiras since 1.5.1 were rolled to 1.6.0. I've updated the JIRAs that where used in svn commit log messages, but that's not half of the actual changes. As well many of the jiras were filed as bugs when in fact they're improvements or features.

A bit more of the not so fun stuff no one likes to do and we're there.

David:

Thanks for this update.
Does it means that once mirrors are updated, the
http://tomee.apache.org/downloads.html page will be updated and will show
TomEE 1.5.2 as the "current available version" ?
Will version 1.5.1 still be accessible in "Previous releases" section?

Thanks,
Alex

Re: [RESULT] TomEE 1.5.2/OpenEJB 4.5.2 (staging-008)

Posted by David Blevins <da...@gmail.com>.
Some release notes created, still more work needed there.

Binaries published:

 https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/tomee/tomee-1.5.2/

Should hit the mirrors soon.

Hi,

If David is not available, could another member of TomEE developers list
perform this promotion?

Thanks,
Alex.

Right!
David did not promoted the binaries as far as I can see on Nexus.

@David, any reason?

Late I know. But +1 from me.
Was on Easter break, and just built/passed on Win7 box this morning.

Andy.

[RESULT] TomEE 1.5.2/OpenEJB 4.5.2 (staging-008)

Vote passes with 8 +1s and 1 +0.

+1s:

Alan Cabrera
Daniel Haischt
David Blevins
Jean-Louis Monteiro
Jeff Genender
Thiago Veronezi
Jacek Laskowski
Mark Struberg

+0:
Romain Manni-Bucau

On release notes, we still have some work to do. We effectively have no changes in 1.5.2 according to JIRA:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=12312320&version=12323846

And a friendly poke to Romain to please not file all your jiras as Bugs. :)

	• [TOMEE-660] - basic tomee.bat file
	• [TOMEE-698] - allow to configure OWB failoverservice
	• [TOMEE-704] - setup arquillian-tck for tomee-remote
	• [TOMEE-707] - better help mojo for tomee mvn plugin
	• [TOMEE-710] - basic ability to deploy a rar from a war
	• [TOMEE-737] - ability to configure OWB properties through app properties
	• [TOMEE-738] - hooks to deploy rar as jar in WEB-INF/lib
	• [TOMEE-739] - ability to provide a resource comparator for cxf rest endpoints
	• [TOMEE-749] - basic config for cdi interceptors/alternatives/decorators in @Classes
	• [TOMEE-778] - provide basic command for tomee maven plugin
	• [TOMEE-779] - ability to configure if the global default jpa provider should override or not the specified ones
	• [TOMEE-785] - ability to configure TimerStore class
	• [TOMEE-787] - ClassLoaderConfigurer based on ProvisioningUtil class
	• [TOMEE-792] - propagating host to webcontext since it can be useful for matching (of WBC for instance)
	• [TOMEE-795] - ProvisioningWebappLoader
	• [TOMEE-796] - try to use repo1 to find a mvn location if resolver not available
	• [TOMEE-797] - basic maven plugin to generate jars.txt files

I should have some time tomorrow to help get a list of changes together for the release, but getting it out that same day might be kind of tough. Any help is greatly appreciated.
