I recently ran into/created the snafu of removing our stable 1.26 from our dist folder.  If we look at PDFBox or Lucene, they include the version in their path, e.g.

https://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/pdfbox/3.0.0-RC1/pdfbox-3.0.0-RC1.jar

Whereas, we do not include the version:
https://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/tika/tika-app-2.0.0-BETA.jar 

Given that we'll likely have two stable versions 2.x and 1.x for a bit, we should add version to the dev and dist repos.

Unless I hear otherwise, I'll do this later today (eastern time).
