Nope.

That problem happens as a result of the <pre></pre> tags which get generated
because of the <source></source> tags.

The table size won't affect the fact that <pre></pre> tags respect
whitespace.

I haven't found a good solution for this yet other than to suggest changing
the side navigation to be at the top (and copied to the bottom for
convenience).
