Thanks Emmanuel. I agree SLF4J will be the right choice. I will use it in server side first. For client and the library, I'm thinking about an even lighter one.

I guess we could leverage slf4j library or just use the Java logging API? The latter would be better in the sense that we won't introduce a 3rd party library.
