Unable to install AOO4.1.1 on Ubuntu Linux 64 bit - help
hi QA,
Has anyone tried to install AOO4.1.1 on Ubuntu Linux 64 bit?
I downloaded English(US) snapshot build, unzipped and extracted the tar.gz. When I clicked on
en-US/DEBS/desktop-integration/openoffice4.0-debian-menus_4.1-9770_all.deb, it goes into Ubuntu Software center for installation, but fails with message ,"the package is of bad quality."
control-file-has-bad-permissions postint 0775 != 0755
control-file-has-bad-permissions postrm 0775 != 0755
control-file-has-bad-permissions prerm 0775 != 0755
Can anyone help me, please?

That is a separate problem. The conflict is due to choices made by
Ubuntu and indeed we can't work around it except in the way you already
understood (remove conflicting file). See

Hi Andrea,
I looked into this issue in Bugzilla. Yes, the same issue as the one I'm getting.
When I ignored and tried to install it, it says,"Package operation failed."
Details of this error gave me:
dpkg: error processing archive .. ..all.deb
trying to overwrite /usr/bin/soffice, which is also in package libreoffice
.....
Should I try to remove libreoffice and install AOO again?
