---------------------------------------

We have actually fixed this but have not yet submitted the patch for this to 0.19. We will do that in the coming days. If you need this urgently you could pick up the 0.17 src that is there on

> Key: HADOOP-4327
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-4327
> Project: Hadoop Core
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: contrib/hive
> Affects Versions: 0.17.2
> Environment: Linux Cent OS 5 Java 1.6
> Reporter: Edward Capriolo
>
> When creating a table the syntax to change delimiter does not work
> ROW FORMAT DELIMITED
> FIELDS TERMINATED BY \001
> COLLECTION ITEMS TERMINATED BY \002
> MAP KEYS TERMINATED BY \003
> LINES TERMINATED BY \012
> Hive accepts other delimiters but \001 'SOH' is still used as the delimiter.
