file characters changed

hi, there,
I have samba server on linux and access it from win2000, if there was a file
ended with </body></html>, on linux, I see normal file, all characters are
correct, but on window shared folder, whatever editor I used, always see
</body></html> body></html>, or </body></html> ??dy></html>, anyway, it will
duplicate a part of last several words, especially when I edit a file and
save it,  what is wrong? is it because of samba server or because of hub, or
because of network cable, but on linux, every thing is right.

need help from you gurus.
