[tiles2] Known problems with tiles-test/pom.xml

Hello!
I would like you to know that tiles-test/pom.xml has a known problem.
The "mvn package" command needs, to work correctly, "maven-war-plugin"
version 2.0.2 that it is unreleased. The problem is in the management of
the "targetPath" element in the configuration of the webResource:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MWAR-54
Thus, until that version will be released, "mvn package" will fail.

Ciao
Antonio

Thanks a lot Wendy! As Greg said, you rock :-)

Nothing special. I've found that it works as long as you don't use the
annotations.

Interesting... Tiles 2 has a dependency on JUnit 4?

Last time I checked, Surefire didn't support JUnit 4 yet. SUREFIRE-31
is still open [1]. How did you get it to work?

It's not checking the snapshot repo. Try adding this either to the
parent pom or your settings.xml:

         <pluginRepositories>
            <pluginRepository>
               <id>apache.snapshots</id>
               <url>http://people.apache.org/repo/m2-snapshot-repository/</url>
               <snapshots><enabled>true</enabled></snapshots>
               <releases><enabled>false</enabled></releases>
            </pluginRepository>
        </pluginRepositories>

Try downloading the file manually from the project website.

Then, install it using the command:
    mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=org.apache.maven.plugins
-DartifactId=maven-war-plugin \
        -Dversion=2.0.2-SNAPSHOT -Dpackaging=maven-plugin

Done.

Thank you

Are you saying that the snapshot of the war plugin depends on
something that is not available in the snapshot repo? Seeing the
error message you're getting would help. :)

I think we should add the dependency on the <version> of the war
plugin we need, then work with the Maven developers to get new
snapshots published if there's a problem.

It works only if you install the plugin manually, because it seems that
it depends on Maven 2-SNAPSHOT, that cause the process to fail.
Wendy, what do you suggest? Should I add (and commit) a reference to
version 2.0.2-SNAPSHOT or is it preferrable to leave the reference to 2.0.2?

Thanks

It looks like the patch has been committed for the war plugin, so if
we add a snapshot <version> to the <plugin> element, it should work.
