!-- DIV {margin:0px} -->Hi,
I would like to know if Woden project is open to contributions.
If it is, would like to take up the implementation of parsing HTTP Binding extension. Kindly, guide me.
Thanks

When attaching a patch in a JIRA, there is an option to grant license
to ASF for inclusion in ASF works. So we need to ensure all patches we
commit have this option selected. Which to me means JIRA is the *only*
sensible option.

Agreed. Reading through the contributor page again, it favours Jira.

Just a procedural point. Rather than contributing via email, shouldn't we be
using JIRA? We should open items for Venkat and have him attach the patches
there. We will need this audit trail latter on when we certify the pedigree
of the code.

Hi Venkat,
Thanks for volunteering to contribute to Woden and welcome aboard!
Before contributing anything to Apache you need to sign an Apache
contributor agreement. The agreement can be found on
http://www.apache.org/licenses/#clas. The section titled "Contributor
License Agreements" contains the agreement and some short information you
should read.
To gain committer status you must first prove yourself to the current
committers by providing patches. Once a trust is established between you
and the committers one committer will initiate a vote. Other committers
will then vote on your committer status. If the vote passes you're in and
will get access to the Apache systems so you can directly make changes to
the source code.

Venkat,
The Apache committers list page [1] list a CVN/SVN id 'venkat' for Venkat
Reddy with committ access to ws-all (and therefore, an ICLA already in
place).
Is that you or a different Venkat?

Venkat,
we would definitely welcome contributions from others. HTTP Binding
Extensions would be a valuable contribution and a good way to start because
you could look at how SOAP binding extensions were done and use that as a
model. There are two parts to this; parsing the extension elements and
attributes from the WSDL into the Woden Element model (i.e. using the
wsdl4j-like extension model) and then building these extensions into the
Wodel Component model as component extension properties (as per the SOAP
component extensions).
I can post on the Woden Wiki some design and implementation notes on how
this 2 part extension architecture works, if that would help.
Thanks for your offer. Are you already an Apache WS committer?

Hi,
I would like to know if Woden project is open to contributions.
If it is, would like to take up the implementation of parsing HTTP Binding
extension. Kindly, guide me.
Thanks
