Because grok statements are complex and multi-line, editing them via SHELL_EDIT is important for useability

> Grok parsers are important pieces of the infrastructure and enable a broad range of parsers.  At the moment, the workflow to specify a grok statement is a bit onerous and relies on external websites.  Instead, it would be better to enable testing of grok statements and deployment/management of deployed grok statements in HDFS.
