In old UI,

1. Create Glossary

2. Immediately click on that area of the created glossary where the ellipsis menu normally appears so that the drop-down menu appears.

Note: After the glossary is created for the first time, detail-page was not getting shown on the right-side and that glosssary node was not shown as selected.
