I don't think we need to deprecate the old implementation as it has never been added. We will just add the elastic implementation as part of [REEF-118]. This will also mean that we end up with no implementations for operators other than Broadcast & Reduce. Also, the Matrix Multiplication example used the old style group communications and will be removed. Will open new jiras for these.
