[jira] [Created] (TINKERPOP-2324) Deprecate the raw NIO support in
the Java driver
Stephen Mallette created TINKERPOP-2324:
-------------------------------------------
Summary: Deprecate the raw NIO support in the Java driver
Key: TINKERPOP-2324
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-2324
Project: TinkerPop
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: driver
Affects Versions: 3.3.9
Reporter: Stephen Mallette
Assignee: Stephen Mallette
Gremlin Driver pretty much supports websockets only. There were fanciful ideas from the early days of TP3 of doing more than that, but none of that has developed beyond what we initially added with the {{NioChannelizer}}. That direction largely seems dead at this point so it seems to be worth deprecating now for 3.3.10/3.4.5 and removing for 3.5.0.
