Summary: Suggestion for Google SiteSearch of FAQ
Product: Tomcat 5
Version: Nightly Build
Platform: Other
URL: http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/faq/
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: Webapps:Documentation
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: wsmoak@apache.org
I noticed the search box on the Tomcat FAQ recently. Great idea! While adding
it to the Struts FAQ and User Guide, I discovered that it can be done without
JavaScript by using the 'domains' and 'sitesearch' form elements. (See:
http://www.google.com/searchcode.html )
This also causes the results page to have radio buttons so the user can choose
to restrict a second search to your site, and eliminates the 'inurl:' and
'site:' showing in the text box.
I'm attaching a patch with those changes, and a little rearranging to put a
label underneath the text box.
