I just want to thank those who spent a good portion of this week reviewing
patches and working to get as many fixes as possible into 1.5.1. I realize
there were a few items (notably serf fixes) that didn't make it in; that's okay,
1.5.2 is currently planned for the end of August/start of September. If it
looks like 1.5.1 is stable and there aren't too many bugfixes needed, we can
evaluate this date as we get closer.

Subversion 1.5.1 Win32 Installer Released
Posted by Troy Simpson <tr...@ebswift.com>.
I am happy to announce the release of the Subversion 1.5.1 win32 installer
based on D.J. Heap's win32 binaries.
This release departs from previous win32 installer releases in three
significant ways.
Firstly, it is an MSI installer - previous releases were .exe installers.
The installer is built using WiX, with SharpDevelop integral in the WiX
project development.
Secondly, it includes Apache 2.0x AND Apache 2.2x binaries in one unified
installer. An option during the install allows you to select the binaries
you wish to install.
Thirdly, this installer will not auto-configure Apache, it is a standalone
Subversion installation. There is no guarantee of this ever making its way
back into the installer. One reason not to include it is it would be
difficult to manage users upgrading their Apache installation. Opinions (if
any) on this should be directed to the users or developers mailing list.
I sincerely hope most users find the new installer more flexible in respect
to administrative installs and the convenient inclusion of both Apache
bindings.
The new installer may be downloaded from the win32 download area here (watch

I took a look at doing this, but quite frankly, I can't figure out what in
the world we've been using for our definition of "branches" in the Freshmeat
sense. Anybody got a clue?

As part of your release process, can you update the Freshmeat page?
Apparently some package repositories (eg Dag Wieers') rely on that for
notification of individual package updates instead of individual project
mailing lists.
