Can't authenticate to get mail from POP
Hi,
I am testing James on localhost on a Windows XP machine with microsoft
loopback adapter installed
using : j2sdk1.4.2_13
Configured: POP to Port:111, SMTP to port 25
email address: user@localhost
Using Thunderbird:
I could send an email to user@localhost
But can't get mail. "It says sending of password did not succeed. Mail
server localhost responded: Authentication failed.

not really a lot of information there Stephen, have you looked at the
log files in
<james>\apps\james\logs ?
Are you, in fact, using the correct username and password?
Have you tried "user" without "@localhost"?
