Help constructing SOAP Request manually
I have a simple web service running under Axis, and now I'm trying to
construct the HTTP POST request manually to communicate with it. The
database we use (IBM's UniData) has a "CallHTTP" function that I need to
learn how to use in order to transfer data to a third party via SOAP/HTTP.
So far, I've built the <soap:Envelope> and <soap:Body> tags and have a
string of text I would like to send to the webserver at
http://my.host/axis/EmailTest.jws.
I'm ready to add the XML to the HTTP Request, but I don't know what
parameter name to use. Do I use the 'message' name (getEmailRequest) or the
'portType' name (EmailTest)?
I'm currently experimenting and constantly getting:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmln
s:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSc
hema-instance">
<soapenv:Body>
<soapenv:Fault>
<faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode>
<faultstring>org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Content is not allowed in
prolog.
</faultstring>
<detail>
<ns1:stackTrace
xmlns:ns1="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">org.xml.sax.SAXParse
Exception: Content is not allowed in prolog.
at
org.apache.xerces.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.parse(AbstractSAXParser.j
ava:1189)
Thanks for any hints! I haven't learned how to read the WSDL document yet.
