Final release

We're overdue for a release. OpenWebBeans is currently preparing the 1.1.4 we need. We should start preparing as well.

Currently, the release version we have is "beta-3". I think we're pretty safe for a 1.0 at this point.

Any thoughts?

Regardless of what we call it, it would be nice to maybe see some binaries up for vote by the weekend.

The old interface is pretty bad. Do you have any thoughts on some very stripped down version of the new interface might be good for a final?

Hmmm... the new web interface is still on its way. I didn't have much time
since my last commit due to some last minute issues in my project.

The new interface has no priority (we really just want to see the ejbs
running :O) ). Also, I don't want this new web interface in a final
release. It should pass by the beta version first. So I think we are OK for
a new release.

hmm,

David thinks it will be short for this release, but it can wait after the
binaries, don't worry. Once the binaries are uploaded we can spend time on
it. I think it is very important to get a new version since i released some
people thinks because of the beta we don't have a good quality.

We could manually sign all the binaries and manually deploy the binaries and the signatures and md5 files, sure.

We'd still need to vote on them, though.

We were deploying them into svn and listing svn as a repo. Infra asked us to find a better way as keeping binaries in svn is not really optimal.

Getting them deployed as part of the Tomcat release process is the ideal approach and something I brought up on dev@tomcat. At this point, having a patch in hand is probably what is need to continue that discussion. Seems this is what we need to update:

  http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tomcat/tc7.0.x/trunk/res/maven/mvn-pub.xml

As 7.0.27 is actually already published and completely finished, we probably just need to figure out a workaround for this build. Perhaps a tiny little maven project we can release like a regular release.

Hi,

is it possible to give it a try with t7.0.27 while we are waiting
dependencies?

i locally patched tomee and actually look if it passes but we still need to
deploy org.apache.openejb:apache-tomcat:7.0.27:zip and i don't really know
how to do it as we did for 7.0.21.

Any objection to give a try? Anybody to deploy t7.0.27?
